First Graders Learn Prayer to the "Blessed Mother" in Spanish

The first grade classes have been working on learning the prayer, "Maria, Reina de todos los santos, ruega por nosotros."  This means, "Mary, Queen of All Saints, pray for us." Students are asking the Blessed Mother to watch over and pray for them.

Students first learned the sounds of each word and recited the prayer using syllables.  Very soon, all students were able to say the prayer and understand what each word meant.  Students proudly copied the prayer onto an illustration of Mary.  The children showed their love of Mary by doing their very best coloring of her picture.  Pictures were on display in the hallway of the Fine Arts Building.  Congratulations to our first graders!
