February Spanish Club Celebrates With "La Rosca de Reyes" and Homemade Tortillas

All Spanish Clubs, grades two through four, are having a busy month celebrating with "La Rosca de Reyes" (King Cake) in observance of the "Dia de Reyes" (Wise Men Day). In Mexico and Spain, this cake is traditionally eaten on January 6th in observance of the Three Wise Men bringing gifts to Jesus.

This month the children also observed corn tortillas being prepared and cooked. Students sampled the fresh tortillas with salsa or sweet pancake syrup.
