Hello Second Grade Parents!
Your children are learning how to pray in Spanish. We began with writing and speaking "The Sign of the Cross" and "Mary, Queen of All Saints, Pray for Us." We have been working on a large poster with the "Blessing Before the Meal" in Spanish with the English translation under each Spanish word. Please, when these posters come home later this week or the first part of next week, allow your child to hang it in your dining area and lead the family in the prayer for practice. I will be sending home a pronunciation guide to help you help your child. We pray every class period, so it will be memorized very soon. It is just important for the children to involve you and your family. They are very proud of what they are accomplishing. I am hoping, later this day, to have the prayers, pronunciation guides, and dates when your children will be reciting all prayers and writing the two shorter prayers. They will not write, by memory, the Blessing Before a Meal. It is too long for them at this point in Spanish. Thank you, in advance, for your help. Once we are able to pray all three prayers from memory, we will be celebrating with an ice cream sundae party! More to come later today . . .
