"The Legend of the Poinsettia" Enjoyed by 1st Grade

The first grade Spanish class learned about "La Flor de Nochebuena" (the flower of the Holy Night) while listening to "The Legend of the Poinsettia" by Tomie dePaola. Students enjoyed hearing this beautiful legend from Mexico which tells the story of a young girl who shares her love and a clump of tall green weeds with the Baby Jesus. Students colored a picture of the poinsettia as a culminating activity. Feliz Navidad!
