Spanish Festival Enjoyed By All

On May 1st, Tuesday, students, faculty, staff, and parents enjoyed an afternoon filled with Hispanic culture. Parents shared a Hispanic lunch, prepared by the Alcott family, with their children. While eating, Lexi Allen and her father, Johnny Beard, mesmerized the crowd with the beautiful flamenco dance. Next, Mrs. Wantiez and her Pre-K through 2nd grade students performed Hispanic dances for all to enjoy. Then came the Spanish Festival rotation. Students carried their passports to 23 Hispanic countries to be stamped by the students teaching about each country. Spanish students shared hand-made maps, colorful posters, dioramas and posters illustrating legends from various countries, and foods from those countries. Middle school Spanish students taught indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, and shared Hispanic cuisine. Mrs. Braunsteiner taught the children about the country of Colombia with a beautiful exhibition and slide show. Mrs. Proctor displayed Hispanic art the children had made. Mr. Kris Mann provided beautiful Latin music to set the mood of the festival. Many parents helped the children with displays and activities. Congratulations to all of the children for their hard work. We look forward to All Saint's Spanish Festival 2013!!!!!
